Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives for women, particularly African women, have opened doors in politics, education, and the economy. They have led to progress, such as the introduction of gender quotas and support for female entrepreneurship. However, challenges remain: a lack of real impact, structural barriers, and programs that sometimes lack substance.

When the CEO of Goldman Sachs states that DEI programs have been successful and that it is time to move on, this, in my opinion, is a negative message—especially in the absence of a real and transparent assessment of their progress.

However, today, doubts surrounding these DEI initiatives can become our strength. Women, what are we doing to move forward, change our paradigm, and highlight the local value we represent? How are we supporting one another?
